First I would like to thank our Councilwoman Janice Hahn for the service she provided for our district during these past years. I believe Mrs. Hahn served our district in an ethical and honorable manner, and I thank her for such service.

I wish her the best on this new task she has embarked on.

Welcome:  

Hello, my name is Walter L. Tayes and I am running for city council.

For starters let me confirm to you the fact that I have no experience in any type of public office, but despite my lack of experience in public office I believe to be the best candidate in this race.

To prove my affirmation of being the best candidate in this race I am, unlike my opponents, including a detail platform and my vision for our district.

My proposed projects will make our district shine, they will create jobs, they will bring more business to our existing businesses, and they will create more revenue for the city in the form of taxes.   

My background is a humble one, and my resume includes dishwasher, janitor, cashier, legal assistant for different law offices, insurance broker, real estate agent, income tax preparer, office manager, business owner, and truck driver.   

I have lived in the district for more than 20 years, I went to high school within our district, and I went to college within our district. 

I know every single corner of our district, I know where businesses are flourishing, I know where gangs are expanding.

I know the weaknesses and strenghts of our district, and I know what our district needs to become a great district! 

I am running for city council because we have a lot of resources in our district, and these resources, if used properly, should help us have prosperous businesses, should help us create new companies, and they should provide for a comfortable life for every person living within our district. 

Unfortunately, those resources are being ignored, our district has a lot of potential for being a great district, but nobody seems to see that potential.

 well I see it!

And if I become city council I will exploit our resources and I am going to make of our district the great district it is destined to be!
